Prompts to Prevent Post-Blogtober Burnout

One criticism I have read a lot of concerning Blogtober is the burnout that happens after. For many, blog challenges are a great way to get back into writing after some time. Unfortunately, going from barely writing to a post a day can cause more harm than good when it comes to writer’s block or reaching blogging goals.

Although I got sick last year and was unable to complete Blogtober, I also went ghost on my blog for months after November. It’s safe to say that combined with my dislike of winter, the burn-out hit hard.

This year has been a period of growth both within myself and my blog, and I finally feel like I can express myself and lean into all of my weird ideas.

Writing out every single idea that pops up into my head has been a great help in getting writing ideas and blog topics. As a lifestyle hobby blogger, creating the lifestyle that I write about instead of waiting for it to happen has been incredibly helpful. This year, I feel confident that I can close out December strong and plan for a great 2027!

I had to share my pumpkin witch, lol

Planning and scheduling blog posts is my biggest life hack. Having a treasure chest of ideas or drafted posts that I can just pull out and write up allows me to reach my goals without taking the fun out of blogging. What are some of those ideas, you ask?

I have put together over 20 writing prompts and ideas for lifestyle bloggers that I have either done, want to do, or would love to read from others! Some of the titles are season specific, however with a title change, it can cover any season or theme. Let’s get into the list!

This was super fun to do for Autumn, I want to do one for winter as well. For example, my winter unpopular opinion is that I don’t like carolers or caroling haha!

You can make a playlist about anything and everything, not just Fall. I have made medieval fantasy playlists and mermaid playlists!

Report stands for Reading, Eating, Playing, Obsessing, Recommending, and Treating. It is a version of a “currently” post and is popular on BookTok. My first R.E.P.O.R.T. is one of my most popular posts for 2026!

Mid-Month ⚔️R.E.P.O.R.T.⚔️

Since I’ve been back on my reading kick, my social media algorithms have been giving me a lot of material about potential new reads and people to follow. Librarywraith is someone on TikTok that I have really been enjoying watching. She has been posting a Weekly R.E.P.OR.T., where she shares a photo of what she…

I have been leaning into look books and they have been so much fun! This can turn into “What I Wore This Week”, “Winter Clothing Pieces I Wear With Every Outfit” and more.

Do you have meals that warm your heart a little extra when there’s a chill outside? This post idea is the perfect place to share your top 5 favorite meals or just share one recipe that you make every year.

Routines are very popular within lifestyle content, and would make great posts for each season as the routines change. Documenting a self-care routine for winter would be a great way to romanticize staying cozy, adding a flickering candle to the early nights.

This idea is one that I plan on doing in November, but imaginative writing is always fun to flex the imagination and step outside of reality. I have so many cookie ideas I can’t wait to add to my imaginary Cafe! Creating a mood board and playlist for this post would be a great addition.

Do you have some decor from October that will be repurposed for November? This would be a great post to share how you transform Halloween decor into Autumn/Thanksgiving pieces. How you store Autumn decorations or transitioning into Winter decor would be fun reads as well.

A very popular idea across all social media, but would be fun as a blog post! The only trouble would be finding a cameraman or navigating a tripod.

Tags and QnAs are probably the most easy post ideas for blogging, as answering short fun questions doesn’t require much work or planning at all. They are still popular, being some of my most visited posts, and it is a quick and fast way for readers to learn more about you.

Autumn Tag: QnA

For today’s Blogtober post, I found a fun Autumn Tag. Let me know some of your answers to the questions in the comments! 1- Favorite thing about Autumn? The leaves, changing weather, and especially all of the warm colors. 2- Spooky Autumn or cozy Autumn? I like a mix of both! I try to keep…

A thankfulness post is another idea I have for November, but I want it to be centered around blogging specifically. This is a year round idea as well, but it is festive here in the US since we have Thanksgiving coming up.

(Clearing off desk, chair blanket, candle?) Include a before and after desk tour, your favorite desk-side snack or drink, and your writing routine for winter (Do you like writing when the sun goes down, or do you wait for a weekend morning?).

There are a ton of great movies set in Autumn or that give off those warm feelings. You can have a movie marathon about any subject, maybe find movies that have to do with your blogging niche?

Do you experience seasonal depression? What ways do you combat it?

This can also include skincare/ clothes/ perfumes. If you don’t wear makeup, the title could be “If I lost my backpack” and the tools you would immediately get back.

Where do you get post inspiration, what blogs you look up to, where you like to write, how you organize your posts, etc!

Talk about self care, relaxing space making, setting aside work responsibilities, what hobbies you enjoy

This list can be literal or figurative. I will be leaving behind the last of the late sunsets, pumpkin spice, I will be bringing my space heater and self reflection into Winter.

I haven’t made one for winter, but maybe I should so I have something to look forward to.

Are you a coupon pro? Are you thrifty? Don’t gatekeep, share your secrets to an affordable gift-giving season.

These are a staple on my blog, however they are mostly on book blogger sites. I would love to read more lifestyle wrap ups!

Monthly Wrap Up // September 2026

Introduction Before we get into this month’s wrap-up, I want to say that the photo above is my favorite monthly wallpaper yet! I was very happy with it and all of the fun elements just kept appearing on Pinterest and found their way straight to my digital cork board for the month. I have been…

This another imaginative prompt, but it would be fun if you write about books, movies, video games, or even music. I would love to see what someone imagines a world would be like based on a song or album.

I plan on doing this before the gray of winter comes!

Conclusion

Those are a few ideas that can be modified to your own blog! Have you written on any of these topics? What kinds of posts are your favorite to read? Let me know, and I will see you all tomorrow!

  1. These are really great post ideas and I might have to come back here for inspiration! I can’t wait to see some of these posts when you do them. I’m honestly not sure what I’m going to do when it comes to blogging in November…I took a long, unplanned break before randomly deciding to do Blogtober…I have no idea what a normal blogging schedule looks like anymore. 😅 I can safely say I won’t be making daily posts for a while though.

    • That’s so real lol. What I like about non daily posting is actually having more time to research an idea or just add bits to a post over multiple days. As I take time on one post, I usually come up with more ideas either based on what I’m working on or entirely new prompts. Social media trends help too haha! I plan on taking a break in January as well. I’ve taken many, many unplanned breaks so I feel you, this year has probably been my most consistent on my blog 😅

  2. I feel like I’m, well, not burned out from writing, but I have lost the vision for my blog, so a bit of organizing is needed moving forward. I love that pumpkin witch!! 😄

    • Organizing is the hardest part, I have too many “niches” that I fear I give any readers whiplash 🤣. The only constant is life updates, then I just go off the rails with whatever I’m into at the moment. Thank you so much!

      • I totally get you! I was supposed to stick to a couple, but then I got carried away, and now no one can expect what I’d post 😅 But life updates covers it, so that’s a good strategy 😅
