Weekend Recap

I spent a lot of time with Dylan over the weekend, on Saturday we carved our second pumpkins of the month! Since we carved our first ones so early, they withered away pretty fast as well haha. This time, we both free-handed a design. I decided to cut out the bottom of my pumpkin to scoop out the insides instead of the top so it lasted longer without carving in and was easier to put in a candle.

Dylan carved an evil angry face, and I carved out some sort of buck-toothed hillbilly inspired by a jack-o-lantern from my favorite childhood game, Animal Jam.

We also got smoothies this weekend, and I tried the pumpkin espresso protein shake from Smoothie King. It has pumpkin, dates, almonds, I substituted anything animal based with vegan protein and almond milk, seasonal spices, and espresso, of course.

I drank mine while watching Paranorman. This shake was almost too much pumpkin for me, but after adding even more cinnamon and mixing it up really well, it grew on me. I won’t be sad once it leaves the menu, but I want to try out seasonal menu items while they are available, why not!

Mom and I decorated the living room a little on Sunday night. I’m throwing a small party so I got these plastic streamer decorations to put behind the TV. Mom added some purple lights and a little spooky projector we found at the Dollar Tree.

Monday, October 19

Weather: 73 F (23 C), some clouds

Over the weekend I attempted to make my own Fuggler, which are these ugly stuffed animals. I think mine turned out even worse than the official versions, but I tried again today and hand stitched it instead of using the sewing machine. My machine will randomly start eating my thread around the tension knob, even if I don’t change anything about the thread or the tension, so after multiple failures I will just stick to hand stitching my little creatures. This one turned out better than my first try, but I think I will keep practicing.

I’ve also slowly been working on designing little stats cards that I will use in a “Blogtober Wrapped” post. It is inspired by Spotify Wrapped so I am using a lot of inspiration from previous years’ designs and making my own. Here is what I have so far. It looks pretty juvenile compared to the official thing haha! I will share more as I keep going.

Tuesday, October 20

Weather: 75 F (24 C), some clouds

Today was a normal day. In the evening I worked on some fun “oracle” cards to be party favors at my Conspiracy Halloween Party. I am making most of the gifts, decorations, and treats. I can’t spoil what I have planned until later 🤫. I wrapped the cards individually in craft paper so it will be a mystery. There aren’t any coincidences, though. Mwahaha!

I finally watched a new-to-me movie this month, Return to Silent Hill. It was so horribly goofy I couldn’t look away. It was hilarious but I do not recommend that anyone watches it, 0/5 stars.

Wednesday, October 21

Weather: 77 F (25 C), some clouds

Today was another normal day. I have slowed down on my Vinted selling, I think the frenzy has fully died out and now I just wait for everyone to receive their orders. Last night, I found out that Walgreens was having a deal on 6 free 5×7 cardstock prints, and I hopped on that deal!

Dylan had been wanting a postcard from this season’s photos, but I wasn’t sure if anyone would want to see mostly Dylan and I and not the dogs. I was reluctant to buy cards. The 6 count deal was the perfect amount, so he did get his postcard after all! They did come with envelopes as well for safe mailing.

Thursday, October 22

Weather: 81 F (27 C), sunny

Today’s weather was great, and I got my steps in with a breeze making sure I never really got hot. I also managed to do a big home reset and got a lot of chores done.

In the evening I started working on some fun ribbon medallions as place prizes for my party. It was my first time making them, and they aren’t perfect. I really like them though! I made them into magnets. I wonder what place I will get.

Friday, October 23

Weather: 80 F (27 C), some clouds

I am travelling today to see my sister for a weekend trip! I plan on making a whole post about the weekend, so I will leave the post here!
