As many of us do when we don’t know what to write about while working on other projects, I have searched high and low for some fun Q&As. There’s a lot to learn about a person by their favorite things, so this tag by Hozzie Writes fits into my theme for September. Since I would have had three posts for the week in September, this along with Beefy’s Autumn Equinox post and my World Postcard Day guide, I am throwing this post in the Blogtober group.
Let’s get into some favorites!
1. Colour
My favorite color is brown, and it has been for a long, long time. Usually after I tell someone that brown is my favorite, they ask what my second favorite color is. Is brown really that strange of a favorite color? It is warm and cozy. But to answer that ever persistent follow up question, my second favorite color is a tie between red and dark blue. In general, I like any and all forest colors. Anything but yellow.

2. Fruit
Watermelon or Tomatoes. Tomato is a fruit, no arguing!
3. Candy
Boston Baked Beans. They are candy coated peanuts and THE grandpa candy.

4. Chocolate
Chocolate sunflower seed cups from Trader Joe’s. They are vegan and even better than what I remember Reese’s cups tasting like. I only get them on holidays because there isn’t a store close to me.

5. Cold Drink
Iced coffee or Diet Coke at the moment, but my all-time favorite drink is the Red Bull Iced Edition.
6. Hot Drink
Lately I have been drinking hot tea in the morning, whatever we have in the tea stash at home. There’s all kinds, so I just pick one at random. I also really like hot chocolate and hot coffee.
7. Ice Cream
My current favorite is cookie dough, but my all time favorite is cherry Garcia. I’m not sure if there is a vegan cherry Garcia out there.
My childhood favorites were cotton candy and bubble gum. The bubble gum ice cream I had at the beach as a kid with the actual bubblegum chunks in it was top tier. It was like a 2 for 1, first ice cream, then a wad of bubblegum.
8. Chips
Baked Lay’s. I miss the old logo and packaging.

9. Soup
I think chicken and dumplings are a soup, but I like mine with extra dumplings that makes the broth to goodies ratio very skewed, so I’m not sure if my version would be considered an actual soup. If not, my next favorite is my vegan “french onion soup” with bread on the side.
10. Car
I am inviting hate and discourse in my comments, but my favorite car is my own 2012 Ford Mustang, or any Ford with a pre-2015 body style.
11. Television Show
Outlander, I still haven’t watched the last season because I don’t want it to be over. I am on my third rewatch of the 1-4 seasons though 😂
12. Movie
The Road to El Dorado is a forever top favorite movie. Elton John did his big one with this sound track. I feel confident that can recite most of the movie by memory.

13. Sport
I know very little about sports, but if I committed myself, I think I would like boxing as my television sport. I watched some boxing a few months ago (I don’t remember who) and was forced to sign up for Draft Kings. I used my free bets and my random picks were fruitful. I should learn more about it. For recreational sports, I like hiking and disc golf.
14. Perfume
This is a body spray, not a perfume, but Snowflakes and Cashmere by Bath and Body Works is my signature scent. The notes are vanilla cashmere cream, caramel woods, and frosted clementine.
15. Meat
What kind of question is this, lol.
16. Vegetable
I have eaten more corn than the average person this summer, but my all time favorite vegetables are potatoes. I can live off of just potatoes, and I have.
17. Genre of Music
I don’t think I have a favorite genre, just favorite songs.
18. City to Visit
Boston, Massachusetts was everything I could have asked for, and it is probably one of my favorite places I have ever been.
19. Celebrity Crush
Josh Hutcherson has been my celeb crush for over a year now, with no signs of another prospect. I don’t care if he is short, as someone who is 5 foot nothing, height has never been a factor of attractiveness for me.

20. Book
Assassin’s Quest, it is simply the best book I have read this year.
21. Sports Team
I have no favorite sports team.
22. Pet
Favorite pet?? I cannot pick a favorite pet, that’s like picking a favorite child. You just can’t.
23. Flower
Any wildflower that isn’t yellow. Anything but roses.
24. Dessert
Right now, my favorite dessert is the mint chocolate cookies from Dollar Tree. Dollar Tree has a lot of dairy and egg free cookies and the mint ones are really good.
25. Smell
Oatmeal and honey, brown sugar and fig, anything vanilla, coffee grounds, the sweet smell of fallen leaves.
For unconventional/unusual smells: gasoline, cut wood, cheap children’s potted lip gloss for the nostalgia

26. Game
My favorite game that I have played is Animal Jam. I played it all the time as a kid. Another favorite is Hogwarts Legacy. I played this when it was free on Epic Games in December and I was so engrossed in it that I had dreams that I was at Hogwarts. Probably the best winter I’ve had in a long time.

My favorite game that I have watched is Silent Hill 2, the original version, not remastered. Watching the game erases all of the game play frustrations and criticisms, so I enjoyed the game with a pure heart and I loved it.
27. Piece of jewelry
My mom got me a necklace and matching earrings from Target for prom, and the necklace is the perfect length and is subtle and easy to wear every day. I also have these turquoise feather earrings, I believe they were from my grandma’s stash. Both pieces of jewelry are my favorites.
Here is a goofy photo of me, but I am wearing both the earrings and the necklace here.

28. Jeans
I have always gotten Old Navy or American Eagle jeans for Christmas. For a favorite, I’d pick American Eagle, I think their sizing is the most consistent.
29. Electronics
Speaking of Christmas, when I was 6, I got a Nintendo DS from another grandma. I was way too young to have this, because I pressed too hard into the track pad with the stylus, but I absolutely loved playing my little games. I still have it, along with my favorite childhood games such as a littlest pet shop game.
30. Hair Product
My mom has put Verb leave in mist and de-tangler in my hair ever since I was about 11. It is lightweight and just a staple for me.

31. Sandwich
At the moment my favorite sandwich is a meatball sub. Dylan and I have made this recipe a few times and it is becoming a repeat winner for both of us. I use Impossible meatballs and vegan mozzarella.
32. Condiment
Right now it is mustard or ketchup because they are low calorie and just work on a lot, but my all-time favorite condiment is ranch.
33. Thing to collect
Postcards, Artist Trading Cards, zines, letters, Vera Bradley, body care, cool glass bottles, postage stamps.

34. Time of Day
Bed time.
35. Day of the week
Friday or Saturday.
36. Actor
Josh Hutcherson, Robert Patterson, I’m just a girl what can I say.
37. Actress
Emma Watson, Jennifer Lawrence, can you tell I don’t watch many movies?
38. Season
First is autumn, then summer, and spring and winter tie for last place.

39. Designer
Calvin Klein, good underwear lol!
40. Comfort Food
Potatoes are my comfort food. Lately, I have just been eating a plain cooked potato with salt and pepper. I honestly don’t even need the salt or pepper. The only potatoes I don’t like are sweet potatoes.
41. Piece of Clothing
This shirt that I stole from my mom is my top favorite. It is really hard for me to find more shirts in this style. Other than that, any pajama is a favorite in my book. In the photo, I am wearing a long sleeve underneath, my favorite shirt is very lightweight and flowy.

I liked these questions because they can change year to year, so it will be fun to look back on what was my favorite at the time. Do we share any favorite things? Let me know, and I will see you all soon!

What a list! You mentioned Disc Golf – I played tournaments years ago, always a blast with your friends.

Yay… another person whose favorite color is brown!
Honestly, though, I don’t think in terms of favorite colors. Colors don’t inherently give me feelings like that. Colors are how you can tell who is on your team. However, I read once on a Wikipedia rabbit trail that brown was the least popular answer in surveys of people’s favorite colors, so I started telling people that brown was my favorite color just to be different. But then I realized I really do like brown, at least to the extent that one who does not inherently get feelings from colors can.
And also, I don’t ever remember hearing before that someone else’s favorite color was brown, but this is now two different people who have told me that in a span of about 31 hours. Interesting.
If I remember, I’ll answer some of the rest of the questions later, at least the ones that don’t stress me out to think about coming up with an answer. I go back to work today, and I need to finish getting ready.
