One thing that has really aided in my creative thought process for my blog is going on regular walks. My house is right off the town highway and there are no sidewalks, so I just walk in circles in the backyard with the dogs keeping me company. As I walk in circles, my mind tends to do the same. I have planned most of my Halloween party on my walks, and when I have a sudden idea, I turn to my Notes app.
I would consider myself to be a “Type B” person, meaning that I am pretty unorganized. I will drive on E for a while because I forget to fill my gas tank, I have the same events on at least 3 different calendar apps including a physical one and still forget, I misplace most of my items and lose things immediately after setting them down, and my notes app is a complete disaster despite it being an important app for my ideas.
While I was walking and thinking, I took an overview glance at my Notes app for the first time in a while and laughed. There are lots of lists, some have an attempt at a title, some are self explanatory, and some entries are just so random that I don’t even remember what it is supposed to mean. It almost reminds me of code words.
I feel like a lot of people can relate to me, and some may be confused at the lack of organization, so I thought it would be fun to share what all I have in my Notes app. At the end, I will take some of the more fun ideas and create a mood board to show a visual representation of my brain.

Starting off strong with my most recent notes, we have a list titled “Things I’m convinced only I do but each thing gets weirder”. There are only two things in this list so far, I gave up after I realized the more weird things are probably not anything that I am conscious about. If anyone notices something weird, though, I’ll just add it to the list lol.
After that, we have things I’d like to use up in the pantry. This helps when I don’t know what to eat. The next two notes are blog prompt related, and the checklist is for when Tori and I go hiking.

I wanted to come up with a ready to go list of projects that I can apply the random things I learn to. I really want to make a cardboard box model of something, but I’m unsure what yet. The rest are blog ideas.

I commonly start and abandon lists with only a few things mentioned. I guess I only eat sugar free sweetener all the time? I mean, I’m not wrong. I’m glad I added a video link on the next note, because without it I had no idea what I was talking about. The more variety of things you learn about, the more connections you can make towards new creative ideas. I wish I would have spoken plainly but I guess an analogy is faster.

Mukbang. Polymath. Orca. I think I have something to add to the list of Type B tendencies. I know what I meant by Mukbang and Polymath- blog ideas. Orca, though, is so random. It is one of my favorite animals, but what about the orca? I don’t recall watching or reading anything about it. Orca…

If I wake up from a particularly vivid dream, I will immediately draw it. I still remember this dream from months ago, I went into this storage room with a hole in the ground, spooky.

Dream Dylan lived in a swamp townhouse on stilts, and there was this guy who kept trying to break in. It was very stressful. Also, the reoccurring alligator was there. I have had an alligator in and out of my dreams for about two years now. Even when it doesn’t attack me, I wish it would go away! Another reoccurring dream feature is houses on stilts or bricks, making it feel unbalanced and like it can just fall over. I should do a dream analysis blog post with the interpretations of some of these features.

Here’s a list of dinners that Dylan will eat that I can either make for him or that we can eat together. “Bef” refers to Morning Star ‘bef” crumbles, a vegan substitute. I never put refried beans on my tacos, so when I made tacos for Dylan for the first time, I just opened the can and spread it on the tortilla like it was peanut butter. He still hasn’t forgotten that I didn’t heat it up… It’s hard being a chef these days, everyone thinks they’re a critic 🤣. Whups.
Alright, that was the gist of what goes on in my notes app on any given day, aside from the occasional diary entry. Now that we have all of the recent themes, let’s make the mood board!

I was really interested to finally see how silly all of these random thoughts would look together. It’s like my brain just printed out the randomness in images instead of transcribed into words in my notes app. I am very amused. Have you ever seen da Vinci and a can of refried beans in the same image? This may be a one-of-a-kind digital masterpiece. Along with the main motifs, I just included some other fun pictures that were already in my Canva uploads, like the autumn leaf, peace sign pin, and the little sparrow.
Do you use your Notes app as a catch-all for your thoughts? What would your brain mood board look like? I would encourage everyone to make one if they have some down time, this was super fun!

You sure think a lot, Katelyn! 😂👍🏻 Please, don’t drive on E if you don’t have to, its safer for you. ❤️😊

I like the mood board! I think of my Notes app as a storage facility for thoughts and planning too. It allows me to clear up space for other things in my mind.
When I upgraded to my last phone, a lot of my notes got deleted and I just realized it a few days ago. Womp! I lost camping lists, recipes, business ideas, Christmas lists, etc.
