The month of June flew by for me. I was so caught up in the inner workings of myself that there are only a few key memories where time slowed down.

Work

At the beginning of the month, I worked security at a John Legend concert. While I was kinda pumped about this, I didn’t realize that not many people actually know John Legend. Maybe I only know him because one of his most popular songs was my Dad’s wedding song, but he was a judge on the Voice so I was still a little surprised. Working concerts, I get the chance to see the artists up close. It makes me laugh sometimes because an artist will be walking around during sound check and we will acknowledge each other, then later I will look up the artist and it was the same person I interacted with, and they performed at Coachella! It just reminds me that we are all just human. The concert was good and I only had one “security” moment. Talk about the best job ever.

Maggie Rogers

Later in the month I got to be a patron of a concert instead of an employee when my mom took me to see Maggie Rogers. If you haven’t heard of her, I would describe her music as indie, and she has a beautiful voice. My mom has been a long term fan of her, so imagine our surprise when we were offered free pit tickets after the show started. We stood in shock and then ran down to see Maggie perform up close. It was a great time.

Art

I managed to get in some time being hands-on creative and made an artist trading card for my swap group. I have been wanting to get back into doing my old hobbies and doing things that make me feel like “me” again, and I’m glad I was able to motivate myself enough to make a mess of paper in my room. This was a lemon themed swap, and I tried something new. I usually paint all of my cards but I made a mixed-collage card. I hope the recipients liked it.

Travel

Around mid-June I took an amazing trip to Boston with my family. I don’t want to spoil all of it because I will write all about my trip in an upcoming post, but my dreams came true for 4 days. 60 degree weather in the middle of June, I couldn’t believe it! The magic of the East coast really struck me; the history throughout all of New England, the large city of Boston Massachusetts, the weather, the ocean, it was all I imagined it would be. I’ve always wanted to go, and I can’t wait to write more about it for you soon.

Reading/Watching/Listening

I watched The Wolf of Wall Street for the first time at the beginning of the month, and I just couldn’t take my eyes off the screen. And to think it was based on someone’s life, no way!

Other than that movie, I started to rewatch my favorite TV series Outlander because I had started rereading the first book on the plane. I love historical fiction and romance and drama, I just can’t get over the story. Other than that, I haven’t watched anything else this month.

My main form of video entertainment is YouTube because I get way too attached to shows and movies, as you can tell by my use of “rewatch”, I have watched the first 4 seasons of Outlander twice and I am working on my third rewatch. I know people who have watched the entirety of The Office 6 times through so this is a no judge zone haha! Maybe I will add YouTube channels to my wrap up next month

I have really been enjoying Yungblud’s cover of I Was Made For Lovin’ You, he changed it just right so that it still has that original feeling that made the original so popular while adding his own twist.

Conclusion

July is known to me as the dog days of summer, but I have some goals that will hopefully make it more bearable. I will be working more concerts while looking for another job. My second goal is to publish at least 2 blog posts in-between my monthly wrap up posts. My blog is what makes me happy, but sometimes it’s hard to get my fingers typing! I’m sure some of you have felt that before.
