One of my favorite feelings in the world is a burst of motivation. While I have been writing and working on some things behind the scenes over the past couple of months, something about the blossoming spring weather has made my brain go into overdrive. I have so many ideas and ambitions and plans that I am actually starting to act on.
I don’t know why but when I am feeling down and depressed, I mull over my desires over and over. “I really should get back into my hobbies”, “I need to start going outside and working out”, “I need to act on growing my small business” and the thing is that I really want to, but there is an imaginary wall that is blocking me. I often think that I don’t deserve to enjoy my hobbies because of everything else I need to do, and I get overwhelmed thinking about how far behind I am and so I do nothing.
I mean, something, ANYTHING would be better than NOTHING, right? But whatever is wrong with me up top can’t see that.
That’s why at the beginning of this month, when I woke up on a random day like I just spent months with my eyes closed in a cave hibernating, I started doing everything at once. Will I burn out eventually? Most likely, you all know me. But will I do as much as I possibly can while I have the drive to do it? Uh, yea! So here is all that I’ve been up to so far:
Highlights
Detergent
This month I started selling two new scents after my first complete sell out of my scented detergent. My new citrus scent is a favorite so far!
Around me, there is a company called Buff City Soap that has a lot of popular scents, and since I got a request for one of their scents in my detergents I’ve been looking for more dupe oils and Good Morning Sunshine was my next pick. It has notes of citrus, lavender, vanilla and musk.
To me though, if you remember the Trident Layers gum (I miss it so much), it smells so much like that and I am obsessed. With that scent, I also put out another men’s scent that is less intense for spring and guess but I already have to order some more Good Morning Sunshine Type fragrance.
I had only bought a small amount because I had no idea how it would smell or perform, but it has been popular! I’ve only really mentioned making detergent in passing months ago on my blog, but I figured I’d give a little update that I am still enjoying it.
Painting
I have been getting the mail itch again, in case you haven’t seen some of my recent posts, and with that I have started trading Artist Trading Cards again. Even though I’m not very good at it, I love watercolor and painted two rainy nature cards that have both been sent to their new homes through swaps on Swapbot.com.

I will talk more about the process and other things I’ve been creating in an upcoming post :P.
First Times Charcoal Grilling
This kind of bled in between the end of March and the beginning of April, but my boyfriend got a charcoal grill for Christmas and the weather was finally good enough to break it in for the fist time! I didn’t get any photos but I will say that at least my vegan burger was cooked…
We have grilled twice so far, the first time we only grilled burgers, and the second time I added in a baked potato. Dylan is very determined to master the burger before everything else, but I’m already thinking ahead to all the other things that would taste good over the coals.
Its a learning experience for sure.
Easter Puppies
On Easter, the dog trio got together to run and play outside while my family and I ate burgers. At golden hour they were so cute I had to take several photos. My dog, Tori, was too excited to play that I didn’t get any clear shot of her being cute, they are all silly action shots of her mid-air.

My mom’s dog, the black and silver mini schnauzer named Wyatt, has a big crush on Dylan’s dog Rue. She has another suitor, the neighbor’s little dog, so there’s some competition for her heart.
Fitness Journey
I have been dieting and semi-successfully doing the 25 day Pilates by Izzy challenge that has been all over my TikTok feed. I say semi because I feel like I’m dying and my legs give out after so long. I’ve also taken some days of rest, 25 days straight of working out is a lot for my weak self.
Vinted
After years of being on Depop, I pretty much stalled any sales of my old clothes for the past almost year now. I decided to start listing my clothes on another app, Vinted. I’m not sure if it is a brand new app or not, but I immediately sold items within a day. I was almost concerned that my first buyers were bots just because of the speed, but I sell a lot of things for dirt cheap, so even if it’s a scam at least the item is out of my room!

If you have clothes you just need *gone*, I highly recommend Vinted so far! I have my own poly mailers and the buyer purchases the shipping label. All you have to do is print the label and tape it onto the package.
I feel like a lot of people have moved on from Depop, or maybe I’m just not being shown to many people. Who knows, but I hope I can keep up the momentum on Vinted and make a little cash while finally decluttering these clothes that have been sitting for so long.
Shows/Movies
I just spoke about my thoughts on the TV shows I’ve watched this past month, so if you’re interested, you can read them here!
Love on the Spectrum S4
Invincible S4
Fallout S2
Mickey 17 (2025)

I’m not sure what I was expecting when I chose to watch this movie, I honestly just saw Rob Patterson and clicked, as many girls do. While it was kind of slow to get into at first, the more I watched, the more I enjoyed it.
Zootopia 2 (2025)

I am a bit late to watch this sequel, but I thought it was really good! While I am not a huge fan of the new way of Disney animating humans, the details and overall “look” of this whole movie is very well done. Just thinking about the dog from the first Toy Story movie compared to now is crazy.
Fried Green Tomatoes (1992)

I saw this movie was leaving Prime , so I had to rewatch it. My mom introduced this movie to me when I was around 15, and I cried then, and believe me I cried the second time. I remember my mom made some fried green tomatoes shortly after I saw the movie for the first time, they really are good!
I’m thinking a movie critic is not in my deck of cards because I honestly enjoyed every movie and show I’ve finished this month.
Music
I’ve been really enjoying what I can only describe as really good “background” music. Songs with lyrics and a good beat, but aren’t super intense. Where the singing is kind of on the same volume level as the music, and it all flows really nicely and you can concentrate on other things while listening.
- Lychee Martini // Lithe
- Last of a Dying Breed // Joji (honestly his whole new album)
- Screaming // Loathe
- Black Out Days // Phantogram
- Once then we’ll be free // Wisp
Post Spotlight
Over the years, I’ve realized that analytics don’t always play out how you think. Most of the time a post I thought no one would read actually performs the best, and some of my favorite posts that I’ve written don’t perform well at all.
This makes sense though, because my favorites are usually just brain dumps or a string of thoughts and ideas and recent happenings. I wanted to have a section where I spotlight the favorite posts for the month, it’s cool to see!
If you blog, are your favorite posts your most popular?

Next Month’s Goals
- Read 2 books
- Write a blog post in a third space environment
- Take dogs on a trail walk at least twice
- Start my next workout series
- Finalize my Etsy page
- Create something for the pups’ birthday!
How was your March? What did you do or watch? Any recommendations? Let me know!

Wow Katelyn! You have so much energy and never slow down, I love that! The dogs are so sweet, I love that breed. I hope you have a wonderful new week and be safe. ❤️

Good going girl! Pilates and all sounds super cool…I think form is much important in pilates too meaning how you hold and breathe through it than how much you are doing…yay gal!

True, I’ve learned it’s a lot slower paced in order to keep form. Painful! And I do forget to breathe all the time haha. I have been liking it but I’m thinking of trying different types of workouts. I haven’t figured out what I’m going to try next. Thanks!

New vision board! At first I thought the star ratings were out of 10 and I was about to call you Anton Ego😄 … Good post / voice.

Oh my gosh 😂 I think I’m pretty generous with my ratings. I look past a lot of things people may complain about haha.
I mainly just don’t want to feel like I’m watching people act or feel like I’m listening to someone in a recording studio, please just be convincing. That is all I ask😂

You have been BUSY! Tons of cute pics too. I was just thinking yesterday about how Spring seems to make people come alive. Love it!
How does one go about ordering your detergent?
I think it’s wonderful that you are feeling and being productive and it seems you’re also good at flowing with how you feel when you need more rest. Love all the updates!

I don’t understand how the analytics work at all. Like why am I getting views on something I posted randomly in 2021 but not on the ones I really put so much effort in. I highly doubt the accuracy of my stats that wordpress shows me lol but it also feels good to see how my old posts are doing so I’m not complaining

I have given up trying to understand my analytics, but it’s interesting to look at. For me, I can post many posts of the same subject as my most popular post, and then the random blurt will top all of them!
I like to go through blogger’s old posts so some of those old views may have been me on a late night where I couldn’t sleep XD. Especially now with your new series, I have been looking at everyone’s old posts during quarantine time to reminisce and see what everyone was up to! I was in my own world, I wish I was more active in the Reader and had that community in the “Hey Day” of WP. I didn’t take the time to search specific keywords and tags to find new people like I do now.

Now that you mentioned it, I do that quite often too, reading old posts from others. On mine, I like to read the comments. There are some great conversations in there lol.
It was truly a moment. I wish I had done more too
