Active for Spring

I’ll be honest I was so tired of the cold chills of winter that the second there was a warm sunny day, I jumped at the opportunity to go outside. There are lots of trails and hikes around me, but I was never a regular at them nor was I super active. I feel like being a pet parent kind of pushed me to want to give my dog (and myself) and enriching and fun walk, as well as some much needed fresh air.

Deciding what trails I wanted to visit were easy for an introvert like me. Turning left out of my driveway would lead me to the city, turning right would lead me more into the smaller country towns. I chose the path of least resistance every time, but maybe I will brave the traffic to go to some nice dog parks in the future.

Over these past spring months I also had been dragging my boyfriend out on these trails with his senior Yorkie, Rue. Rue is a big advocate of the “stop and smell the roses” ideology so our walks were more like casual strolls. But going at a slower pace was perfect for taking many cute pictures of the dogs and the trail.

There are more moments that I didn’t get pictures of because we go on the same trails each time, but if the weather is nice you can’t beat it.

On Easter, Tori, her brother Wyatt, and Rue had their own get-together in the backyard while the rest of us ate burgers off the grill. Of course I ate an impossible burger and some french fries, my mom also made a dip for me from some vegan cream cheese and “chorizo” crumbles. I am trying to eat cleaner as part of my health goal journey (I feel lame saying that for some reason lol), but the dip was delicious.

Other than that, I just have random Spring bits, featuring Tori and Wyatt in their rain coats on a rainy day, and Rue in her neon pink harness at the trail.

If you couldn’t tell, these little pups are my life. I have made it my goal to give them the most fun possible as if they were little children that I watch over. Who knew that having dogs in your life would change it so much?

I’d love to hear about your pet adventures in the comments!

  1. Great photos Katelyn! I love the photo closeup of that nose! I don’t have pets but grew up with Standard Poodles, such sweet dogs and they don’t shed. Have a great weekend!!
